I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee- #5822. I dedicated the last 15 years to studying and understanding human behaviors.
I am a believer, happily married, and have an adorable daughter who teaches me patience daily. I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, dancing, and having deep and meaningful conversations with family and friends.
My work is inspired by the late Myles Munroe, Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, Aaron Beck, and most recently, Brene Brown.
Over the years, I have had the privilege to work with clients of all backgrounds; I appreciate the opportunities to work with people across different races, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. I worked in various settings and locations such as Mississippi, Indiana, and Tennessee. I worked at Youth Villages for four years, where I helped many families live successfully together. I provided specialized treatment to at-risk youth with sexual problems behavior. I work with Lyra Health to provide anxiety and depression treatments to employees of some of the biggest companies in the world.
As a child, I struggled with depression and anxiety. I thought it was my fault that my dad wasn't a part of my life. The Bible verse "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" changed my life. I realized it was my thought about the circumstance that was causing me distress. I learned to cultivate the habit of having helpful and accurate thoughts, and my life became barely recognizable. Joy and peace became my norm rather than an exception. I became a therapist to help others do the same. I started STA Counseling to provide solutions for clients who want to integrate Biblical principles into their treatment. I have a calling and passion for helping individuals find peace and joy in their lives. There is light despite all of the darkness
