Meet your therapist, Stephen Adika
Hi there, I'm Stephen, I am a licensed mental health therapist dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to healing and personal growth. I believe that each person has the capacity to overcome their challenges and lead a fulfilling life, and I am honored to be a guide on that journey.
With over half a decade of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations and helping clients navigate a wide range of concerns. My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a deep respect for each individual's unique experiences and strengths.

I am a Christian, fortunate husband, and father to an amazing girl. I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, dancing, traveling, and having deep and meaningful conversations with family and friends.
My work is inspired by David Burns, Myles Munroe, Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, and most recently, Brene Brown

THERAPY STYLE
My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. Together, we will explore the underlying factors contributing to your struggles, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical strategies to foster positive change.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and acceptance commitment therapy. By tailoring our work to your specific needs and goals, we will address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and more.
I firmly believe in the power of self-awareness and self-empowerment. As we embark on this therapeutic journey, I will support you in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, your values, and your strengths. Together, we will develop coping skills, enhance your resilience, and foster personal growth.
I value cultural sensitivity and strive to create an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment for individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. I recognize the importance of honoring your unique identity and lived experiences in our therapeutic work.
I am committed to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and therapeutic approaches. This ensures that I can provide you with the most effective and evidence-based interventions to support your well-being.
Embarking on therapy is a courageous step towards self-discovery and emotional well-being. I commend you for taking this important step, and I am here to provide the guidance and support you need. Together, we will work towards fostering resilience, promoting self-acceptance, and empowering you to lead a more fulfilling life.
If you are ready to embark on this transformative journey, I invite you to reach out and schedule a consultation. I look forward to working with you and being a partner in your personal growth and healing.
My Story
From self-blame to self-discovery, I transformed my pain into purpose. As a child, I believed my father's absence was my fault, that I wasn't worthy. Through the quiet battles of my teenage years, my mental health became my focus. I delved into psychology, eager to heal myself, only to realize that I had always possessed enough within me. Empowered by this truth, I embarked on a journey to America, leaving Nigeria behind, to become a therapist and extend my hand to others in need. I seek to empower others, guiding them towards triumph over their mental health battles.
